Many of our dear customers come to us looking for tips on how to take care of their babies delicate hair. And here at Paradise Galleries, we are always more than happy to offer our assistance and encourage our reborn moms with beautiful hairstyles that they can do on their babies.

What is a Faux Mohair?

Faux Mohair is a very delicate type of hair that is gently applied to collectible baby dolls either glued in place like our best-selling Wishes and Dreams or rooted in the head like our Sweet Sister, and gives a very realistic infant hair look! This type of hair is not meant to be combed.

How can I fix my doll’s flyaway mohair?

Naturally, once you pull off that sweet little cap this baby fine mohair is going to go every which way, just like a real baby. A quick easy solution is to take a damp paper towel and lay it on top. Adding this moisture helps and then use your damp hands to help flatten hair sections into place. We also found that using this dampened towel scrunched up and dabbing with pressure was also helpful in getting the hair to stay flatter to the head.

This works great and does not damage the hair. So, the next time the cap comes off just dampen and repeat!

Hair pampering is a fun and great thing to do! Your babies will definitely feel loved as they enjoy a fresh look today. Just remember to be very gentle and avoid wetting your babies’ head and limbs.
