Simple Ways to Celebrate World Down Syndrome Day as a Family

1. Rock Your Socks

One of the most popular ways to raise awareness on World Down Syndrome Day is by wearing mismatched or brightly colored socks. The idea is that chromosomes look like little socks under a microscope, and since individuals with Down syndrome have three copies of the 21st chromosome, it’s a fun and symbolic way to show support. Let your whole family join in and encourage friends and classmates to participate too!
